Insurance Companies reduce the premiums of clients who have smart sensors installed in their homes.

From this article on the Australian Financial Review website on November 7th 2024, an up-and-coming insurance firm is offering their customers with a home and content policy an 8% discount on their premium if they install three sensors.

These sensors can provide detection of water leaks, smoke and fire, and if a door or window has been opened.

This information is supplied back to an application and stored if any claims need to be made. But the real benefit is for the home occupant who can get the alerts immediately and act to prevent a disaster.
